Position Summary
The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing construction tools, equipment, and small machinery to ensure optimal performance, safety, and availability for project teams. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor and taking direction from the shop Foreman, this role supports preventative maintenance programs, equipment inspections, and troubleshooting across a wide range of construction-related assets.
This role is based in Port Kells (Surrey), BC.
As a Mechanic Your Key Accountabilities Will Involve
- Performing inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on construction tools, small equipment, and light machinery (e.g., electrical distribution, lighting, heaters, generators, saws, pumps).
- Ensuring all equipment leaving the warehouse is in safe working condition and compliant with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate service records, repair logs, and equipment status updates within the company’s asset management system.
- Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and determining required repairs or parts replacements.
- Taking direction from the Foreman to prioritize work as needed.
- Assisting with inventory control, equipment tracking, and organization of parts and tools within the warehouse.
- Supporting equipment delivery and pickup processes as required.
- Working collaboratively with field personnel to resolve equipment-related issues and provide technical guidance.
- Upholding all safety procedures, company policies, and workplace standards at all times.
As a Mechanic Your Experience And Qualifications Will Include
- 18 years of age or older.
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License.
- Experience with small tools, equipment repair or auto repair is an asset.
- Any equipment manufacturer training or certification is an asset.
- Ability to lift at least 55lbs and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain solid attendance.
- Availability to work extended hours as required.
