About Yoga Kawa
Yoga Kawa specializes in joyful, animal-assisted wellness experiences that bring people together through yoga, laughter, open hearts and connection with therapeutic animals. Our sessions combine mindful movement with playful interactions with puppies, kittens, bunnies, and other animals to create unforgettable experiences for participants of all ages.
We are looking for instructors who can lead with energy, warmth, and confidence while creating a safe and respectful environment for both people and animals.
Position Overview
This is not a typical quiet yoga class.
A Pet Yoga Instructor at Yoga Kawa is part yoga teacher, part host, part event facilitator and part animal ambassador.
You will guide participants through yoga poses while managing the joyful chaos that comes with animals in the room. The role requires someone who can juggle multiple priorities simultaneously:
- leading an all level yoga class
- Integrating the animals/pets
- engaging participants
- keeping the room lively and fun
- ensuring animals remain safe and comfortable
- helping participants interact respectfully with animals
The ideal instructor is charismatic, playful, confident, and comfortable speaking to groups.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Fun & Engaging Yoga Sessions
- Guide accessible yoga flows suitable for beginners and mixed experience levels.
- Deliver poses clearly while maintaining a fun, relaxed, and interactive environment.
- Keep participants engaged and energized throughout the session.
Integrate Animals into the Experience
- Incorporate puppies, kittens, or other animals naturally into the yoga session.
- Encourage joyful interactions while ensuring the animals’ wellbeing always comes first .
- Monitor the animals’ comfort and ensure they have space to rest when needed.
Create a Memorable Experience
- Bring enthusiasm and personality to the class.
- Facilitate moments of laughter, connection, and playfulness.
- Help participants feel relaxed, welcome, and excited to participate.
Work Well with Children and Families
- Comfortably guide sessions involving children and families.
- Demonstrate and teach gentle and respectful interaction with animals .
- Maintain a structured yet playful environment.
Support Event Flow
- Welcome guests and introduce the class experience.
- Provide safety instructions before the session begins.
- Help facilitate photos, social moments, and participant interaction.
Hospitality & Customer Service
- Be part of the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Be warm, welcoming, and attentive to participant needs.
- Represent the Yoga Kawa brand with professionalism and positivity.
- Maintain punctuality, preparedness, and professionalism , arriving early and representing the Yoga Kawa brand positively.
Must Have Qualifications
- 200-hour yoga teacher training
- Experience teaching group classes
- Comfortable working around animals and their accidents
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to manage lively group energy
- Comfortable working with children and families
