Job Synopsis
The Human Resources (HR) Assistant provides administrative support in various areas including recruitment, and employee onboarding, as well as a variety of administrative and clerical duties. The HR assistant reports to MCC Manitoba’s Human Resources Director.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in HR or administrative support (HR Assistant experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a collaborative and diverse team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and prioritize a wide variety of tasks
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, and confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Successful police record check (upon hire)
- Legally able to work in Canada
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate data entry for HR database.
- Maintain accurate employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with MCC policies and legal requirements.
- Support the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews. Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a timely recruitment process.
- Assist with Health and Safety activities, including receiving and filing incident and hazard reports, maintaining inspection records, and tracking First Aid certifications.
- Support all aspects of volunteer onboarding.
- Implement the stewardship strategy for Manitoba workers serving internationally.
- Coordinate and assist with new employee onboarding, including completing required documentation and forms.
- Support contractor onboarding and offboarding, ensuring consistency with established procedures and documentation.
- Organize the annual employee recognition program at MCCM.
- Assist with administrative duties related to Manitoba’s MCC Thrift Shops.
- Assist the HR Director in delivering training related to the HRIS system for supervisors and team members.
- Help maintain the employee handbook and distribute updates as needed.
General:
- Participate in regular staff meetings
- Model non-violent peacemaking through daily interactions with staff and the public
- Maintain a high level of integrity, reflecting Christian respect and Christ's unconditional love to those with whom you work
- Participate in the Canadian Human Resources Network and the joint Global HR Network meetings
