JDS Energy & Mining is seeking an experienced Underground Engineering Superintendent to support the development and execution of an underground mining project located in the interior of British Columbia. This is a camp-based, fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) position operating on a 1 week on / 1 week off rotational schedule, with full camp accommodations provided while on site. The Underground Engineering Superintendent will lead all underground engineering functions, including mine planning, design, and technical services. Working closely with operations, geology, and project teams, this role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective mine development while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage underground engineering activities including short- and long-term mine planning
- Oversee mine design, development sequencing, and production scheduling
- Review and approve engineering designs, including development layouts, stopes, ventilation, and ground support systems
- Supervise and mentor a team of mining engineers, surveyors, and technical staff
- Coordinate closely with operations to ensure alignment between mine plans and execution
- Monitor development and production performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of mine plans, schedules, and technical data
- Manage engineering deliverables to support project milestones and overall construction schedule
- Support budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting for engineering activities
- Identify and mitigate technical risks related to underground mining operations
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and company procedures
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities as required
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to site safety protocols
- Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and performance metrics
