Job Summary The Aquatics Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the pool and open water operations, ensuring the areas are safe and sanitary. They supervise and monitor individual team members, ensuring performance standards are met while supporting development and engagement.
Job Duties
- Tests and balances pool chemicals; documents as required by the state and local regulations. (Essential)
- Cleans and vacuums pool and skimmer baskets, backwashes the pool filters, and skims the pool to remove debris as needed. (Essential)
- Ensures pool side and lake front remains clean and sanitary. (Essential)
- Provides leadership for team members, ensuring a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment. (Essential)
- Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
- Operates pool pump rooms, handles chemicals and ensures water balance of pools.
- Greets and establishes rapport with guests.
- Performs pool opening and closing duties, including monitoring and adjusting pool temperatures, as directed.
- Ensures safety equipment is present and in working order. Checks first aid kit for needed supplies on a daily basis.
- Inspects aquatic equipment to ensure working order; reports any needed repairs to resort leadership accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 1 year in experience in a supervisory role (Required)
- 1 year in experience working in aquatics (Required)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people
- Must be able to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
- Must have flexibility to respond to resort needs during non-business hours
- Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
- Required Certifications/Licensures:(National Lifesaving Society Certificate (Canada))
- Required Certifications/Licensures:(Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR))
- Required Certifications/Licensures:(Lifeguard)
