As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Director, Technology Services, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of IT professionals and network/telecom specialists.
This is an existing vacancy/backfill.
##What You’ll Do
###You’ll act with integrity to:
- Manage and maintain the development of network and security architecture for the Assembly; is responsible for system security strategies, policies and procedures.
- Identify, rate, and report on internal and external threats to information security posture; recommends and implements network and security systems and procedures to mitigate threats.
- Plan, organize, and schedule network and security projects, collaborating with the PMO, providing status updates, prioritizing projects.
- Ensure appropriate network safeguards (including switches and firewalls) securing Assembly systems from external breach are in place, logs are maintained and monitored to discover attempted breaches of security.
- Assist in the planning and maintenance of the network security budget and ensures required software, licensing, services and support are obtained.
###You’ll support our collaboration as you:
- Co-ordinate and participate in system audits and provide analysis of system audit recommendations.
- Participate in the development of business continuity plans and appropriate disaster recovery procedures.
- Develop and ensure implementation of procedures to ensure network access and security policy compliance, and work with clients to ensure sound network security practices are followed.
- Provide leadership to and manages an established team of professionals and participate in branch projects, meetings and strategic planning.
##How You Qualify
###You demonstrate excellence through your:
- University degree in IT or 6 to 8 years equivalent progressive related experience, with specialized subject knowledge of telecommunications, applications, operating systems, databases, and hardware and software integration.
- Broad and current understanding of network technology, security risks and network controls; and an understanding of information security needs and the functions of branches with the Assembly to establish and set up systems security.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems when participating in project planning and project management, and translate technical concepts and processes into business context.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to interact effectively with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
