Job Description
As the General Manager, you will drive the operations forward within an organization that allows extensive latitude to make decisions and take action. You will achieve excellence by leading and teaching your people to make business and service decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service and employee retention while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics for the Hotel and maximizing profit margins for all stakeholders.

Key Focuses
Supports quality first impressions at the front desk, lobby, and guest entrance by being present and visible in operations throughout the day. Engages team members to deliver “picture perfect” results in all rooms and public areas, ensuring standards for cleanliness and readiness are met. Directs and coordinates hotel activities to achieve established goals, objectives, and standards. Monitors all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and more, to ensure smooth operations. Provides direct reports with the training, resources, direction, coaching, and feedback required for their continuous development. Analyses GSS scores as they relate to “Guest Room Cleanliness,” “People,” and “Front Desk” to identify areas of the hotel that require additional training and support. Owns sales activities for the hotel, working in conjunction with the Corporate Sales Team and Director of Revenue Optimization. Oversees all accounts receivable and payables processes to ensure organizational standards are adhered to ensure expedient collection and payment through Corporate Office.
Experience/Passions/Education
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Hotel General Manager. Minimum 5 years of Hotel leadership experience. Post-Secondary education or Tourism related degree.
Working Conditions
Due to the 24-hour operation of the Hotel, the General Manager may be exposed to long shifts that at times include late hours, weekends, and holidays. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders. The General Manager will spend a lot of time on their feet, multitasking competing priorities, effectively dealing with confrontation from employees and guests and leading a culture of service excellence.
