Job Title: 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada Department: Operations Status: Full-time Work Arrangement: On-site | Tuesday - Saturday | 2:30 p.m. – 11 p.m. Hourly Rate: $40–$45/hour

The Company: Polar Performance Materials was founded in 2012 and produces ultra-high purity alumina (HPA) using a proprietary low-carbon process. The factory is located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Polar’s HPA is increasingly necessary to manufacture products used in high growth, high purity semiconductor applications. Other applications include LEDs, lithium-ion batteries, thermal management materials, and technical ceramics utilized in aerospace, medical and industrial systems.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Licensed Millwright to join our maintenance team in a high-purity and corrosive manufacturing environment. The Millwright will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. This role requires a hands-on, safety-focused professional who can work independently as well as part of a team. Experience with industrial electrical systems is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical / Millwright Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical systems Perform alignment, calibration, and preventive maintenance on equipment Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform corrective maintenance efficiently Support installation, relocation, and modification of equipment Assist with commissioning of new machinery and systems

  2. Electrical (Electrical & Controls Support — Asset) Support basic troubleshooting of electrical components as required Assist in identifying and escalating electrical issues to qualified personnel Read and interpret basic electrical schematics and technical manuals (asset)

  3. Safety & Compliance Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and applicable safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and regulatory standards. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including environmental, health and safety, building codes, and mechanical standards

  4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed Assist in preventive maintenance scheduling and reporting Support special projects or tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor Required Skills and Qualifications: Licensed Millwright (433A) required Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent experience as an industrial millwright Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills Basic understanding of electrical systems is an asset Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and working at heights if required Knowledge of applicable Canadian and provincial codes (e.g., Ontario Building and Mechanical Codes) is an asset
