What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the SVP, Architecture and Data you will be a key member of the Architecture, Data & Analytics team. The Senior Director will lead the planning and execution of multiple large, complex strategic initiatives within the ADA portfolio to support CIBC’s ambitions. The Senior Director is accountable for the end to end delivery across all stakeholders with a delivery operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scalability. This role will be accountable for overseeing the program and/or project related governance processes, methodologies, and procedures and in accordance with CIBC’s Program and Project Delivery Policy and Enterprise Delivery Framework. The position partners with multiple stakeholders throughout the bank to ensure cohesive program and project execution.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Project Management - Lead the planning and execution of committed regulatory and strategic initiatives within the ADA portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Management- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and executive management to effectively facilitate decision-making and develop risk-mitigating strategies that ensure the successful implementation of specific strategic programs. Develop and manage internal relationships with CIBC’s technology team and other infrastructure groups, as needed, to deliver programs within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Partnership and Collaboration - Participate as a thought partner, providing advice and recommendations that support the development and evolution of our business mandate and help the business make better decisions quickly.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, motivation, and support to the team - Create a positive work environment by serving as an effective role model and championing CIBC’s mission, vision, and values. Provide leadership, coaching, motivation, and support to the team. Hire the right people for the right roles, aligning individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.

Who You Are

  • Project Management Expertise- You have a successful track record of managing large-scale, multi-faceted projects. A professional designation such as BCAM certification or PMP is an asset.
  • Financial Services Business Acumen- You possess comprehensive knowledge of financial services practices and principles, enabling you to analyze and interpret complex concepts and apply them in innovative ways.
  • Effective communicator- You convey detailed information clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization, articulating ideas and opinions precisely to prepare detailed business cases and strategies
  • Strategic thinker- You have the ability to apply thought leadership and complex concepts to refine strategic objectives.
  • Adaptable and proactive- You understand complex issues and can quickly adapt to new subject matters and changing circumstances.
  • Excellent relationship builder- Strong management and leadership skills enable you to lead and motivate a highly professional and diverse workforce. You establish productive relationships with various leaders, departments, and partners both within the organization and externally. You develop imaginative solutions and new ways of thinking about situations, problems, and opportunities.
