The Ministry of Corrections and Policing has a career opportunity for a confident and positive role model to work at the Pine Grove Correctional Centre as a permanent full-time nurse.

We are seeking a compassionate, respectful and empathetic individual who is eager to contribute positively to the challenges of working in a Correctional Centre. The successful candidate will be a professional who will commit to teamwork and collaboration through effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Our candidate of choice will work with a team of healthcare professionals to provide direct female patient nursing care and treatment. You will maintain accurate patient records, actively promote preventative health measures, respond to medical/psychiatric emergencies with appropriate interventions and assess medical and mental conditions, making referrals as needed.

The successful candidate must be an advocate for their patients, be honest and reliable, treat everyone with dignity and respect, and be committed to the pursuit of excellence. You will exhibit leadership and professionalism, embrace diversity and equality, and be responsible and accountable.

To be considered for this position, you will be actively registered (or eligible for registration) with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPN) or The College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (RN). You must have knowledge of medical and psychiatric theories and related intervention strategies; drug/alcohol withdrawal indicators and effects; communicable diseases in a correctional population; public health issues and risk factors; and knowledge of multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives.

The successful candidates will work day, evening, week and/or weekend shifts both 12-hour, 8-hour and Monday-Friday schedules available.
