Human Resource Business Partner

MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our Distribution client to find a first-class Human Resource Business Partner to join their team in Canada . The primary responsibility of this role will be to partner with leaders and employees to execute the HR strategy, provide people management support, and ensure compliance while driving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Some of what you will do in this role includes:

• Act as the first point of contact for leaders, providing advice on talent management, employee and labour relations, performance management, and HR policies
• Support dispute resolution processes, including investigations, grievance handling, and discussions with union representatives
• Partner with leaders to assess workforce needs, support succession planning, and implement staffing projections
• Manage recruitment processes including job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer letters
• Support the development and execution of Health & Safety programs, ensuring legislative compliance across offices and warehouses
• Collaborate on corporate culture initiatives, including employee engagement committees and wellness programs
• Contribute to HR projects, special initiatives, and compliance reporting

You should have the following in your background to apply:

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally as an HR business partner
• Recruitment experience
• Strong background in employee and labour relations, including investigations and grievance resolution
• University degree in business, HR, or a related field required
• Experience working in unionized environments
• Knowledge of employment law and provincial employment standards
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
