We are growing our team and are seeking an enthusiastic Internal Communications Specialist to join us – if this sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
Working as part of our Communications & Public Affairs team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our internal communications strategy with an employee engagement-focused approach. You will play a significant role in guiding and delivering effective and engaging internal communications and change management communication strategies.
Key to this role is the ability to build strong relationships with leaders and teams across the organization, identify compelling and relevant E-Comm stories and provide guidance on the best way to share them with our employees. You will think strategically to develop and leverage communications tools and platforms to increase employee engagement in close partnership with our People and Culture team.
Your advanced writing and creative design skills will help ensure key company messages reach and resonate with internal audiences.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute internal communications plans that support organizational priorities;
- Draft and edit a range of employee communications including staff updates, announcements and update through an intranet platform;
- Ensure messaging is consistent with organizational values, tone and brand;
- Help maintain and enhance internal communications channels while supporting a team of intranet editors;
- Contribute to employee engagement campaigns, recognition campaigns and corporate storytelling;
- Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear and engaging messaging; and
- Monitor feedback and engagement to continuously improve communication.
What you’ll need:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences;
- Ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and teams across the organization;
- Strong organizational and project management skills;
- Experience managing intranet platforms or digital communications tools;
- Expertise in creating engaging and compelling employee communications;
- A strategic ability to develop internal communications that advances E-Comm’s strategic priorities;
- Experience supporting communications during organizational change;
- A passion to innovate, try new approaches and not be bound by what worked in the past, and;
- Completion of a degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or a related discipline plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
**Note:**After hours and on-call monitoring is required on a rotational basis (approx. 1 out of 6 weekends).

Security Requirements:
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained. This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5+ years.
To qualify for this process, a candidate may be either a Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen. We regret any candidates under Student, Visitor, or Work Visas are not eligible for consideration.
**Vaccination Policy:**E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
JOB DETAILS:
- Job status: Temporary Full-Time
- Anticipated length of temporary assignment: assignment to end June 1, 2027
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Wage/Salary: PG 23 | $42.18 to $49.76 hourly; $87,734 to $103,500 annually (2025 rates)
