Job Summary

As part of Calgary Economic Development’s Creative Industries team, this position will support, track, and coordinate programs and project flow associated with the development, delivery, and implementation of a Creative Economy Strategy.

This is a full-time term position ending December 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and execution of programs and support program growth and development.

  • With support of Manager, Creative Economy, coordinate, manage, and execute administrative tasks required for program implementation.

  • Create efficiencies and methods for tracking, reporting, and maintaining records to ensure data is easily accessible and updated.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, quarterly budgets, and forecasts for programs. Monitor project budget and track expenditures and transactions.

  • Responsible for the creation of purchase orders and invoice processing in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

  • In collaboration with the Manager, Creative Economy, monitor and track the key deliverables and program success metrics while coordinating implementation logistics such as workback schedules to meet delivery timelines.

  • In collaboration with the Manager, Creative Economy, support the creation of materials to ensure better communication and understanding of programs.

  • Compile business intelligence and other available data on creative industries trends.

  • Stay current with local, national, and international industry trends.

  • Prepare monthly global creative industries trends report.

You have in-depth knowledge and experience with program development and management. You have proven project management skills with the ability to multi-task and budget for several projects at once.

Education:

Post-secondary education such as diploma in business, office administration, related field, or industry-specific area.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience

  • Experience in supporting individuals working with the City of Calgary and/or Creative Industries is an asset.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Proven project management and project/financial accounting skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with program development and management.

  • Demonstrated end-user computer proficiency, including Monday, Windows 10, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Concur.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, establish priorities and perform to a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines.

  • Strong time management skills and proven experience in working on multiple, detail-oriented, time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
