Underwriter, Risk Solutions - Toronto
Reporting directly to the Manager, Warranty, the successful applicant will be responsible for assessing the performance, structure, reserve adequacy and financial structure of warranty programs, and the credit worthiness of the program administrators.
The successful applicant will be passionate, and results oriented with the ability to build upon and foster relationships with new and existing clients.

- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to see the full workflow process

- Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and work effectively with team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to develop practical solutions
- Innovative, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs
- Supports process improvement initiatives
- Ability to work efficiently and with a high level of quality in a team-based group

Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager with underwriting new business applications for Warranty programs according to company standards
- Review and negotiate specific terms and conditions in warranties, insurance policies and indemnity documents
- Evaluate exposures and determine appropriate terms and conditions of coverage
- Analyze, assess and monitor the financial strength of new and existing business
- Participate in team strategy and product development
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and organizational standards
- Determine risk levels, premiums, extent of coverage and other conditions associated with new and renewal applications
- Collaborate with business leaders to assist in cross-marketing initiatives
- Marketing and sourcing new business opportunities
- Identify opportunities for product growth and improvements
- Represent Trisura at various association and industry related functions
- Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impacts on products offered
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a University degree
- 3+ years of experience in the insurance or automotive industry; exposure to automotive warranty products is considered a definite asset
- Proficiency with MS office suite
- Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Experience working in a client facing environment
