About the role
JOB PURPOSE: The Finishing Operator is responsible for any additional work that needs to be done to the product such as cutting, drilling, taping, etc. They are also responsible for the proper labelling and packaging of the product.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to read schedule, routers, and sales orders
- Ability to operate drill press, band saw, Finishing saw, manual banding tool, walkie and forklift
- Cut, drill, tape parts as identified on drawing
- Fill out inspections, audits and production reports accurately
- Inspect finished parts for quality and visual appearance
- Label all parts / skids clearly and accurately with part ID, sales order, etc...
- Perform daily pre starts.
- Record all production data on appropiate forms
- Maintain good housekeeping of area
- Report all Health and safety issues immediately
- Wear all PPE required and work in a safe manner
- NCR's filled out properly with clear, accurate explanation
- Ensure the requirements of ISO 9001 and Polycorp's QMS are conformed with.
- All other duties as required
SKILLS REQUIRED - COMPUTER PROGRAMS OR OTHER SKILLS:
- Training in WHMIS and SDS
- Forklift license
- Crane certification
- Blue print reading
- Ability to work well with others.
- Understands principles of product and service quality
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Basic Computer skills
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Understands the acceptable quality standards for the product they are working with
Able to read, write and fill out production reports with accuracy
