About The Opportunity Our public sector client has a requirement for one (1) Procurement Support resource to assist with a temporary workload increase. The resource will provide support for procurement and contracting by creating documentation, tracking all contracts for the section, and performing other administrative duties as assigned by the section head.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provides procurement services for the creation and award of contracts: This may include recommending or awarding contracts within delegated authority and providing support on portions of more complex and higher value files. As well, this may include creating procurement, contractual, and resource management documentation to support requirements
- Provides advice and guidance to clients on medium to high complexity files: Advise and assist management and other stakeholders in the relevant procurement policies at play, and make recommendations on best practices
- Provides resource management support: Support the day-to-day management of the administration of resources, to include liaison with the contractor’s representative(s)
- Provides financial administrative support for resource management activities: This includes but is not limited to: preparing reports for managers to assist them in budget management; budget review for labour and travel; processing claims; processing invoices
- Provides solutions and problem-solves for complex cases: As a procurement subject matter expert, finds creative solutions and bypasses to solve problems for clients, ensuring that mission-critical procurement objectives are met
About You The successful candidate will have the following:
- Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant work experience
- One (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years in performing procurement and contracting tasks in a Government of Canada (GoC) environment in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat
- One (1) year within the last 10 years) with, and a current working knowledge of, Government of Canada (GoC) contracting processes as per the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and must be able to articulate the methods for procuring both inside and outside of a given Delegation of Authority
- Proficient in English
- Valid personnel security screening at Secret Level II
About the Job
- Duration: Approx. Feb 23, 2028 to July 24, 2026 (22 weeks)
- Location: West Ottawa
- Work Environment: Onsite - 5 days per week. Work will be conducted from the client site
- Expected contract compensation: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour, this range reflects Ontario market-aligned rates. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, client requirements, and contract terms
