Your New Role...
The Director, Legal, Labor Relations handles union-related claims and grievances, oversees production and personnel labor issues, and ensures compliance with applicable collective bargaining agreements for U.S. and international productions for Warner Bros. Television and its affiliated companies as needed. It also participates in industry-wide negotiations through the AMPTP and CMPA.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Strong knowledge of entertainment guild and union contract terms and conditions as well as television production practices. Ability to interpret and apply such related wages, hours, and working conditions across domestic and international television production environments, advising internal studio stakeholders and production teams.
- Demonstrated experience investigating and resolving union claims and grievances, including negotiating settlements with major guilds such as WGA, DGA, SAG, IATSE, and Basic Crafts.
- Legal expertise in union audits, arbitration preparation, and drafting legal briefs, including witness prep and cross-examination strategies and working with outside counsel.
- Proficient in labor market research and contract negotiation preparation, including proposal and costing analysis, drafting legal memos, and summarizing and drafting impact reports .
- In-depth understanding of the union notice and waiver request process, with experience delivering required notices and seeking waivers when appropriate from the above-the-line and below-the-line entertainment guilds and unions.
- Active participation in industry-wide negotiations and AMPTP committees, with the ability to draft proposals, track proposals, and deliver internal collective agreement training to client groups.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience...
Required Qualifications
- Education & Licensing: A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Juris Doctor (J.D.) and valid California Bar license are preferred.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 6-7 years of experience in television at a studio, production company, entertainment guild, or law firm is required, along with 1–3 years in a legal, industrial, or labor relations environment.
- Legal & Labor Relations Skills: Must have strong knowledge of labor law, union contracts, and collective bargaining agreements, with the ability to conduct legal research and analyze personal service agreements.
- Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills are required, including the ability to manage teams, build morale, and work effectively across all levels of personnel with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Soft Skills & Culture Fit: A collaborative, self-starting attitude with flexibility and a sense of humor.
- Organizational & Technical Skills: Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional Experience: Prior experience, legal training, and background in union contract administration, labor relations, or production are strongly preferred.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $161,070.00 - $299,130.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
