About The Role
VCIB is actively seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join its dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and maintaining the bank’s internal IT systems to ensure seamless daily operations. Your primary focus will be to guarantee that employees have secure, reliable access to hardware, software, and critical business applications essential for banking functions. Working closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, and business teams, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional IT support within a highly regulated environment. Your efforts will directly contribute to the stability, security, and efficiency of the bank’s technological infrastructure, supporting its mission to serve clients with integrity and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. A minimum of two years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience supporting Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based collaboration platforms. Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint management, and IT service management tools is essential. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills are critical for success in this role. Prior experience in banking, financial services, or other regulated industries is considered an asset, demonstrating your ability to operate within compliance-driven environments.
Responsibilities
Provide first- and second-level technical support to employees across both corporate and remote work environments, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues. Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment to support daily operations. Manage user accounts, access permissions, and identity management platforms to uphold security standards. Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, VPN, and connectivity issues to minimize downtime. Support enterprise applications such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Zoom, and other collaboration tools. Provision and decommission employee devices during onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining accurate asset records. Maintain IT asset inventory and oversee equipment lifecycle management to ensure optimal resource utilization. Assist with endpoint security, device compliance, patch management, and cybersecurity best practices to safeguard organizational data. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles for internal reference. Escalate complex technical issues to Infrastructure, Cloud, or Information Security teams as needed for resolution. Participate in IT projects, technology upgrades, and continuous service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
