Position Overview
The Senior Systems Analyst is a key member of the Integration Platforms team, responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement of enterprise integration services that connect critical business applications across the organization. This role is ideal for a results-driven technology professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions. As a trusted technical partner, the Senior Systems Analyst collaborates closely with business and technology teams to plan, design, implement, support, and optimize integration solutions and middleware services. Leveraging strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, the successful candidate will enhance platform stability, improve operational efficiency, and enable business transformation through integration and automation initiatives.
Key Deliverables
Troubleshoot, identify workarounds, and implement permanent solutions for application and integration issues Actively participate in identifying process improvements and system optimization opportunities Coordinate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve incidents within agreed service levels while maintaining ownership and providing regular status updates Participate in a required on-call rotation to support high-availability services and 24/7 operational requirements Coordinate system changes with IT support teams and prepare change management documentation for implementation activities Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans, including end-user reviews, for modified and newly implemented application features and functionality Implement system changes in compliance with IT Service Management (ITSM) policies and procedures Provide specialized technical expertise in the analysis, design, and architecture of enterprise systems and integration platforms Identify and implement efficiencies through automation, monitoring, dashboards, and proactive alerting solutions Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and recommend strategies for enhancement and optimization Partner with business stakeholders and application users to understand requirements and support business priorities Mentor, support, and provide technical guidance to team members and project initiatives Collaborate with IT teams to build, test, deploy, and support services that enable business operations Work closely with IT Security teams to ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 8+ years of progressive experience in software development, systems analysis, or application support roles 5+ years of experience working within DevOps and software delivery environments Strong proficiency with Microsoft Azure services, including cloud migration initiatives (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) Experience with Azure Pipelines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and modern CI/CD practices Advanced knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) methodologies Working knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles Experience with enterprise integration and middleware platforms such as IBM MQ, Azure API Management (APIM), Confluent Kafka, IBM DataPower, Fortra GoAnywhere, or similar technologies Solid understanding of ITIL processes, change management practices, and documentation standards Familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance standards, including PCI DSS, GDPR, and PIPEDA. Experience overseeing the planning, design, development, and implementation of application, system, and infrastructure solutions Proficiency with business productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and Visio Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills Highly organized, with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work under pressure Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and team-oriented environments Demonstrated sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills The benefits of being a WestJetter: WestJet provides all WestJetters with a competitive total rewards package.
