About the role
Role: The Senior Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all plant activities. This role supports the Production Manager in driving continuous improvement, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and fostering a positive work culture.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and implementing improvements.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, CFIA, GMP, BRC, and other regulatory standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, promoting health and safety practices.
- Coach and develop production teams through regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings.
- Resolve production issues promptly, ensuring high standards in maintenance, sanitation, and equipment performance.
- Manage departmental costs and ensure timely, quality production without shortfalls.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to business planning and budgeting.
- Foster positive labour relations, ensuring respectful communication and timely resolution of grievances.
- Administer attendance, vacation schedules, and departmental meetings.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in business or management preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of safety systems, GMPs, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to motivate teams, solve problems decisively, and manage time effectively.
- Continuous learner with a proactive approach to change and improvement.
