Job Description
We are hiring one full-time Accounting Manager to join our team.
The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in delivering on our mission. This role ensures our clients receive accurate, timely, and well-reviewed work while also developing and supporting accounting professionals within the firm.
Our clients make real decisions based on what we deliver. This role exists to protect quality, strengthen accountability, and build long-term trust.
This Role Is for Someone Who…

What You Will Be Responsible For
Client and Revenue-Focused Work
You are the final quality checkpoint before work reaches the client, as well as the primary escalation point for complex bookkeeping issues.
You will oversee and deliver
Month-end close (MEC) bookkeeping with accuracy and consistency Year-end procedures, including coordination with external firms when required Hourly bookkeeping and consulting engagements Accounting process improvement initiatives Review and oversight of tax and compliance filings (T4, T4A, T5, 1099, sales tax, and ad hoc filings) Team Leadership and Accountability You are expected to model professionalism, emotional intelligence, and consistency.
You will
Supervise and mentor a team of Staff Accountants and Interns Conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews Set clear expectations, goals, and development plans Deliver training on accounting practices and systems Identify and address performance risks early Participate in hiring decisions and, when necessary, terminations Operational and Administrative Responsibility You will have access to sensitive financial data, systems, and client information, and are expected to handle all information with discretion and integrity.
You will
Review timesheets and monitor billable hours Approve expenses and manage assigned team budgets Maintain accurate task and project tracking in internal systems Ensure strong documentation across all internal platforms Approve team leave requests and oversee accrued balances Participate in weekly leadership and departmental check-ins Communicate clearly and report to leadership
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
These are non-negotiable: Minimum 2 years of leadership experience with strong accounting and bookkeeping fundamentals. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven ability to review staff work, identify errors, and provide clear, constructive feedback. Demonstrated ability to assess client year-end readiness and GST/HST returns. Intermediate to advanced experience in a widely used accounting system, including file review, troubleshooting discrepancies, and performing cleanups. Strong professional judgment and commitment to quality, accuracy, and compliance. Exhibits a strong ownership mindset, taking full accountability for client file accuracy, completeness, quality of review, and team performance. Everything else — tools, templates, workflows, internal systems — we will train.
