TITLE: Seamstress STATUS: 0.6 FTE Permanent
POSITION SUMMARY:

Under supervision, performs a variety of tasks related to the marking, mending, alteration, and repair of

clothing, linens, and other fabric items. This role supports resident comfort, safety, and dignity by ensuring

garments and linens are well-maintained, properly fitted, and suitable for use. The incumbent exercises

judgement in assessing items for repair, alteration, or removal from service, while maintaining quality

standards and efficient workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of high school preferred

• Previous sewing or garment repair experience, an asset

• Demonstrated ability to operate sewing machines and related equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrates a cooperative, flexible, and positive approach to work

• Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors

• Works collaboratively with co-workers and management

• Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently

• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail

• Ability to organize work and meet productivity expectations

• Knowledge of basic sewing techniques and garment construction

• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures

PAY RANGE: As per collective agreement
