Position: Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA)
Location: Kingston, Ontario
Overview The Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) supports the delivery of high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physiotherapist. The role focuses on assisting with treatment interventions, documenting progress, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, effective care in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physiotherapy services under the supervision of a Physiotherapist (PT).
- Administer treatment interventions, including modalities and exercise programs, as directed by the PT.
- Assist patients in performing therapeutic procedures, including exercise routines, functional activities, and activities of daily living.
- Support patients in using mobility and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
- Document patient care services accurately in clinical and departmental records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and infection-control policies.
- Contribute to patient outcomes by identifying care issues and communicating effectively with supervising PTs.
- Participate in professional development through education, reading, and networking.
- Enhance K-TOWN Physiotherapy's reputation by taking ownership of tasks, demonstrating initiative, and exploring ways to add value.
Qualifications And Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Understanding of health promotion and maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to create a safe, effective treatment environment.
- Compassionate and caring demeanour with strong patient motivation skills.
- Team-oriented with effective listening and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in healthcare documentation and administration.
Education And Experience
- PTA or FAHP Diploma.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Registration with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) as a PTA recommended, but not required.
- Kinesiology Degree (Preferred)
Compensation And Hours
- Hourly Wage: $18.00/hour
