Position Summary

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall success of the Front of House operations (FOH) for the food & beverage department at the Resort. Overseeing operational requirements for the restaurant, lounge, banquet facilities and Event Centre activities. The Food and Beverage Manager will act in conjunction with all other departments to enhance and support the growth of the entire resort operation. As part of the management team the Food and Beverage Manager will be an integral part of providing an exceptional resort experience to our guests.

Key Accountabilities

Oversees all Resort Food and Beverage Operations including Event Centre, Banquets/Meeting functions, Restaurant, Lounge, Hotel Room Service, and Casino Floor. Develops, implements, improves and maintains F&B operating procedures and ensures adherence of resort-wide policies by executing a comprehensive training program for all staff focused on skill development and customer service standards. Responsible for the Administrative and Human Resources functions of the Food and Beverage department including but not limited to scheduling, recruitment, training and financial accounting/balancing. Achieves revenue and profit goals by developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue and control costs in all outlets Develops a first-class achievable and viable FOH service model for the new Event Centre, which executes multi-use programming including live performance & entertainment, spoken word, group functions, milestone events, corporate meetings & town halls, trade shows, etc. Collaborates with Execute Chef to enhance current F&B offerings with a focus on generating new customers that are symbiotic with our gaming operation. Including establishment of new food and beverage outlets within the property Assists with planning and approval of external and internal marketing and sales promotion activities for Food and Beverage Operations Manages staff, sets objectives and conducts employee evaluations for direct reports Promotes a culture of service throughout Resort Food & Beverage Operations through development of staff training programs and development of supervisory staff to consistently deliver exceptional customer service and the highest level of execution of all banquets, meetings, group functions held on the property Supports gaming floor management and follows up on service and staff to ensure guest satisfaction Liaises with Sales & Marketing to ensure client event requirements are properly coordinated with F&B & Culinary teams and other departments (Security, Audio/Visual, Custodial, Finance, etc.) Sources new products to enhance our F&B offerings; reviews product mix to ensure cost effectiveness and quality products Responsible for FOH inventory and supplies management and provides staff direction for monitoring purchasing and receiving procedures for goods & services to ensure proper quantity, quality and price Ensures that all revenue and cost control procedures are in place and consistently utilized. liaises with Finance & Accounting to ensure appropriate POS menu pricing Prepares and administers F&B Operations budgets in conjunction with the CEO / General Manager & Finance department Prepares and executes an F&B Operations strategic plan for growth that aligns with company goals Ensures strict adherence with AGLC liquor and house policies in accordance with AGLC Liquor license terms & conditions; liaises with other Departmental Management and Resort security to ensure regulatory compliance Ensure timely correspondence with all event guests including guest satisfaction inquiry, contract follow-up, billings and thank you letters as required Establish and maintain consistent communication between front of house and back of house personnel Manages other initiatives or duties as assigned

Education and Qualification Requirements

Post-Secondary education or suitable combination of education and experience Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal Computer literacy in MS Office and Point of Sale programs Minimum 5 years of experience in Food & Beverage management Experience with Live entertainment and event planning preferred Passionate about hospitality and service Proven leadership of a Food & Beverage team Experience is utilizing industry related training programs First Nations experience an asset Other languages an asset

Licensing or Certification Requirements

For positions that require special certification, the appropriate level of certification will be maintained.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
