STATUS: Full Time

SALARY: $27.12 - $29.46

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The Unit Clerk provides receptionist, clerical and patient centered duties, demonstrating the values, strategic directions and core success factors which support our commitment to the patient, their family and community partners to provide quality health care. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the unit is running smoothly, information is delivered in a timely, sensitive manner and that confidentiality and privacy standards are maintained at all times.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Medical Office/Health Care Office Administration Certificate from an accredited post-secondary educational institution

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills including but not limited to professional conversations, telephone etiquette, compassionate listening and utilizing critical thinking skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position

  • Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program

  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and code of conduct

WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

  • Crisis Intervention Training

HOURS:

Must be able to meet the availability and non-availability requirements as outlined in the OPSEU Clerical Collective Agreement.
