About Red Chris
Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your Impact
You will lead environmental performance at the site level, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while advancing sustainability commitments. By combining strong technical expertise with people leadership, you’ll help protect the environment, strengthen operational integrity, and enable responsible business growth.
As part of our team you will
- Lead and mentor a team of environmental professionals to deliver safe, compliant, and high-quality work
- Oversee site environmental performance, including monitoring conditions, tracking trends, and reporting outcomes internally and externally
- Direct the implementation of the Environmental Management System and associated plans to meet regulatory and internal standards
- Drive environmental priorities and initiatives aligned with site and business objectives
- Lead audits, inspections, and compliance monitoring of infrastructure and operations
- Investigate environmental incidents and ensure timely corrective and preventative actions
- Prepare and review regulatory reports and technical submissions for accuracy and completeness
- Provide technical guidance to address complex environmental challenges and risks
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within your team
Prerequisites for your success in this role
- Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in environmental management within a regulated industry (e.g., mining, energy, or industrial operations)
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance frameworks, and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach others, and build inclusive, high-performing environments
- Advanced skills in environmental monitoring, risk assessment, and data analysis
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions and outcomes
- A proactive mindset with the ability to solve complex problems using data and practical insights

The expected salary range for this role is CA$129,300.00 to 172,400.00 per year . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
