Dental Claims Coordinator – Provider Services

OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross® is currently seeking a Temporary (12 month), Full Time Claims Coordinator to join our Dental Provider Services team. The overall responsibility of this position is to ensure that the dental claims we receive are appropriately managed. This involves accurate and efficient entry and adjudication of claims and treatment plans.
This position provides a flexible remote work style, with the expectation of on-site attendance a minimum of four times per month.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Enter and manage dental claims and treatment plans to ensure timely payment for our providers and members.
- Research and compile information from various sources to resolve inquiries and claim discrepancies, consulting with senior staff if assistance is required.
- Contact providers to obtain necessary information to assess claims.
- Adjudicate claims in accordance with Dental Provider Services policies and standards with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor individual production to ensure that claim turnaround expectations are met.
- Make suggestions to improve workflows, increase efficiency and be innovative.
- Review current documentation and complete any required updates or enhancements as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
- Knowledge of dental terminology and nomenclature is a definite asset.
- Demonstrated commitment in delivering superior customer service, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of accountability, in a flexible remote work style arrangement that still promotes teamwork.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are critical, demonstrating the ability to use good judgment in evaluating and decision-making, and completing work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage a heavy workload, and meet tight timelines.
- The ability to occasionally work flexible hours.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, and knowledge of Teams and SharePoint is an asset.
