Context:
The GO Expansion program is the largest transit infrastructure program in Canadian history. The GO Expansion Program will transform rail services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), providing two-way all-day GO train service and improved passenger experience with quieter and faster electric locomotives. The GO
Expansion program includes Early Works, Off-corridor station and infrastructure upgrades, as well as an On-Corridor program to deliver new tracks, platforms, facilities, grade separations and electrification.
The MCS team is partnering with partnering with Metrolinx to deliver the GO Expansion program. MCS’ mission is to transform Ontario’s GO Rail Network into a Rapid Rail System through the delivery
of the GO Expansion Program and to provide exemplary support to Metrolinx. The MCS Program
Delivery Partner (Delivery Partner) team will achieve this by facilitating Metrolinx’s creation of an
outstanding organizational capability for program management and, simultaneously bring our global
and local expertise to the direction and successful delivery of the GO Expansion program.
Missions/Main Duties:
Reporting to the Corridor Lead, the Project Manager will support with developing & providing leadership to the team on one of the specified Rail Corridors on the GO Expansion Program, to ensure the best outcomes for the coordinated team.

The Project Manager (PM) will work closely with the Corridor Lead on GO Expansion to ensure the best outcomes for the coordinated team. This position is part of the Metrolinx Program Team (PT), which is formed with MCS and Metrolinx teams to for GO Expansion.
The PM will take ownership on projects / scope under their control, as designated by the Corridor Lead. They will utilise their previous experience to drive a culture of best practice for health, safety, wellbeing, and quality across the programme. They will be required to proactively engage with the project delivery teams (PDT’s) to understand any positives and/or negatives, and work with the teams to develop resolutions that are best for programme.

supports the Corridor Lead in leading a major multi-disciplinary team of engineering manager, project manager/s and deputy project manager/s, including other specialists as the rise occurs.

Safety leader across all project delivery works.

Proactive approach to engaging with the various Project Delivery Teams (PDT’s)

Must understand key performance indicator monitoring and engagement, directly linked to monthly measurement criteria established.

Must understand resource management, interface and constraints management.

Able to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.

Must be capable of supporting the Project Controls Centre and team to maintain up to date metrics on performance across the entire programme.

Recommends and initiates change to project delivery plans, identify areas of improvement to put forward to relevant area in business and operating processes.

Interacts with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that objectives are being met.

Manages external relationships important for project delivery (e.g., statutory authorities).

Builds and maintains networks with peer project teams and other disciplines.

Supports the development and delivery of implementation plans, establishing commercially beneficial delivery models and leading on innovation & best practice.

Technical Competencies Required
- Solid understanding of construction methodology, innovative methods of delivery, technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, commercial & legal / contract issues
- Sound knowledge of contract & commercial procedures
- Sound project management expertise
- Good oral and written communication skills, clear and concise; good presentation skills
- Stays up to date with key industry/professional trends through networking and Continued Professional Development (CPD)
- Updates colleagues & clients on industry trends
- Understand different types of contracts and able to give advice to clients
- Knowledge of BIM and able to give advice to clients and articulate BIM strategy
- Understands data management
- Proficient in office technology, software and applications.
- Well-developed decision-making skills
