GPPSD is seeking a dedicated and engaged instructional leader, committed to working collaboratively within all levels of the system to ensure every student succeeds . Effective school leadership is essential in supporting teachers to provide students with high quality instruction in collaborative and engaging learning environments.
Qualifications
- A graduate degree in Education is required. Preference may be given to those with a specialty in leadership or administration.
- Leadership Certification in the province of Alberta is required (or be eligible to apply).
- Must possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or be eligible to apply).
To be considered for this position, candidates should be prepared to provide evidence of:
- Successful leadership experience in a public-school environment, as described in Alberta's Leadership Quality Standard.
- Strong organizational and instructional leadership skills with the ability to support teachers to promote continuous improvement in student growth and achievement.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, consistent use of multiple sources of data to make decisions at the classroom and school level.
- Strong communication processes to meaningfully engage all stakeholders in the school community.
- An inclusive educational vision and experience successfully supporting the needs of diverse populations of staff and students.
- A strong understanding of current trends in educational transformation in the Alberta education system.
