Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dynamic and organized professional to join our Events Team as Events Manager for maternity leave coverage until December 2026 .
Salary range: 68,000-72,000
The Events Manager is responsible for handling both local catering and group sales bookings, with an assigned sales quota. This role involves soliciting new business, managing inquiries, coordinating sales for group events, and overseeing event logistics to ensure seamless execution. The manager ensures all events are detailed and delivered to the highest standard, contributing to the growth and success of the hotel’s events operations.
In this role, the Events Manager works closely with Hotel Sales Managers on contract negotiations and servicing groups, particularly in catering and convention services. Primary responsibilities include banquet food and beverage sales, meeting room rentals, menu planning, agenda setting, hospitality amenities, and special VIP requests. The manager facilitates clear communication with hotel staff before, during, and after events to guarantee exceptional guest experiences.
The Events Manager also hosts hotel tours, maintains strong customer relationships, and participates in or leads event and staff meetings. Collaboration is key, as the role works closely with sales, catering, and support staff, including an assigned Administrative Assistant, to ensure every event is executed flawlessly.

Qualifications Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of event planning/management experience (hospitality or corporate setting an asset).
- Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with event management software is an asset.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
