The Opportunity

As a valued member of our Regulatory Team, you will be responsible for supporting the regulatory department by conducting research, analyzing data and preparing regulatory submissions. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Staying up to date with regulatory developments and requirements, in Newfoundland and Labrador and other Canadian jurisdictions. This may include changes in laws, regulations and policies in the electric utility industry.

  • Conducting research and analysis of various regulatory issues, on an as-needed basis.

  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of regulatory submissions and any associated procedures in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Coordinating with other departments (such as legal, finance and operations) to gather necessary data and information for regulatory submissions.

  • Maintaining the regulatory filing calendar and providing updates associated with ongoing regulatory processes.

Your qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in relevant field (for example: business, economics or public policy).

  • 3-5 years' experience in a regulatory, compliance or related role in the electric utility industry or other regulated environment, or similar experience, is preferred.

  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks, laws and policies.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory documents.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative.

  • High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
