Job Summary : Reporting to the Senior Director, Planning and Research, the Senior Manager, Quality provides leadership to Kinark’s quality team. The role is responsible for driving the agency’s accreditation processes, leading quality oversight, enabling family engagement, and embedding a culture of continuous quality improvement across the organization. The position also provides subject matter expertise in support of our enterprise risk management program
Duties and Responsibilities: Accreditation Leadership
- Lead and sustain the agency’s accreditation readiness and compliance with Accreditation Canada standards.
- Coordinate all accreditation activities across programs and services, engaging leaders and ensuring clear planning, communication, and implementation.
- Develop and monitor metrics related to accreditation projects.
- Provide coaching, consultation, and guidance to staff and leadership on accreditation best practices.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
- Champion a comprehensive quality improvement program, leveraging methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma to strengthen organizational processes and service quality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of performance issues, develop effective solutions, and track improvements using defined KPIs.
- Facilitate, guide, and support leaders and teams in the planning, coordination, and execution of quality initiatives.
- Promote knowledge translation by embedding sector best practices and lessons learned into organizational processes.
Family Engagement Oversight
- Provide leadership and oversight for Kinark’s family engagement function.
- Support the integration of family perspectives into quality and accreditation processes to strengthen organizational decision-making.
- Ensure family engagement strategies reflect sector best practices and align with Kinark’s mission and values.
Risk Management
- Contributing subject matter expertise in support of the ongoing operation and improvement of Kinark’s enterprise risk management framework and processes.
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide leadership in the organization’s quality improvement program, including facilitating organization’s Quality Oversight Committee and quality plan
- Supervision of Quality team to foster a collaborative, engaged, and high-performing team.
- Support a culture of innovation and continuous learning across Kinark.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program leaders, staff, and external partners.
- Communicate progress and outcomes of quality, accreditation, and family engagement activities to leadership and staff in a clear, timely, and engaging way.
Qualifications:
- University degree in health administration, public health, social sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).**
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in quality improvement, accreditation, or program evaluation in health, social services, or related sectors.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), and/or Project Management is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience leading accreditation processes and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing staff or project teams.
- Excellent analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Ontario’s child and youth mental health, autism, and forensic mental health sectors is an asset.
- Familiarity with enterprise risk management principles and frameworks considered an advantage.
