About the role
The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Millwright to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities: Works in compliance with the Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations safety rules and the Internal Responsibility System
Receives instructions for assigned tasks in the form of work orders
Aligns couplings between driving and driven equipment and calculates the difference required due to the change in operating temperatures between various units
Fits sleeve bearings or guide ways by scraping or lapping to obtain correct operating clearances
Changes ball or roller bearings on cranes, hoists, mills, blowers, and preloads bearings to manufacturer’s specifications when required
Reports to supervision any conditions which if left unchecked could result in premature breakdown
About You Performs other related duties as required
Your personal commitment to health, safety, training, and continuous improvement will be the key to your success in this role.
Education And Skills Applicants must be a certified Industrial Mechanic - Millwright and hold a Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification with at least three years recent, relevant experience, and possess a valid driver's license.
This position requires strong mechanical and communication skills both written and orally.
