IT Project Manager - HR Technology

About the role

Contract: approx 7 months with positiblity of extension and/or converting into FTE

Typical Day in Role: Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, timelines, scope, deliverables, dependencies, and project governance artifacts. Coordinate project activities across business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, developers, and project management resources to ensure successful delivery. Facilitate project status meetings and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of action items. Partner closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and subject matter experts to gather, validate, and refine business requirements. Lead and coordinate the delivery of technology solutions, working with developers and third-party vendors to ensure business objectives are met. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines and quality standards. Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test planning, execution support, issue tracking, defect resolution, and stakeholder sign-off. Develop implementation, rollout, communication, and transition plans to support successful deployment and adoption. Prepare project status reports, executive updates, steering committee presentations, and decision-support documentation, including cost-benefit analyses where required. Provide guidance and oversight to project coordinators and support resources while ensuring effective execution of project administration activities. Ensure project delivery follows established project management methodologies, governance standards, and systems development lifecycle (SDLC) practices. Manage project communications across all stakeholder groups, including senior leadership, business sponsors, and executive audiences. Support multiple project workstreams throughout various phases of delivery, including requirements gathering, data mapping, development, testing, and implementation. Work in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities while driving project milestones and delivery objectives.

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills: 5+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager managing end-to-end technology projects with strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and project delivery best practices Experience with PM tools: JIRA, Microsoft Project Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.

Nice-To-Have Skills: Experience managing ServiceNow implementation projects Experience from FIs - specifically HR technology and HR transformation project experience Bilingual in Spanish is an asset Experience delivering UI-focused and client-facing technology solutions Experience managing third-party vendors and external delivery partners

Soft Skills Required: Strong communication skills Very thorough, attention to detail, organized Stay on top of things, works independently with minimal hand holding Strong stakeholder management skills, able to communicate with Exec/C-Suite level Able to work in a fast paced work environment and manage competing priorities

Education: Bachelor's degree PMP/PMI certification an asset
