About the role
Position Summary
The successful candidate will lead their team in the financial success of the branch and HUB. This branch primarily services dealership partners and operates as an Autoplan Services Dealer (ASD) location. Delivering exceptional client experience and sales excellence through training, coaching, mentoring, and motivating employees. The Branch Manager will be responsible for developing and managing their branch, including maintaining strong dealership relationships. They are accountable for increasing revenues, profitability, and flow through, managing expenses, as well as the overall satisfaction and engagement of both clients and employees.
Responsibilities
Fiscal Responsibilities

Develop and execute an annual business plan in partnership with the AVP, Operations to meet targets and maximize every opportunity across all lines of business in the branch
- New business

Monitor P&L statements and take appropriate corrective action when necessary to ensure targets are met/exceeded

Achieve or exceed branch-level targets across key performance indicators including ICBC Revenue, PA Revenue, HAB Revenue, Mode Revenue, and PIF Retention

Assess local market and identify current and prospective opportunities to obtain new clients
-
Ensure an excellent and consistent client service experience

Ensure all best practices are adopted and effective for the branch
-
Adhere to and champion PL Operations processes and procedures; support and drive adoption of process changes across the branch
-
Maximize on opportunities for efficiency (i.e. utilizing central processing)
-
Participate actively in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization
-
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure branch compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements including ICBC audit readiness, and Insurance Council of BC regulations
- Ensure consistent and effective application of all corporate policies and procedures as they apply to the business or to the employees
- Provide monthly results review to AVP including performance to target, areas of underperformance, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
- Proactively escalate risks, staffing gaps, or operational issues to AVP
- Work collaboratively across branches, with the CSC, PL Ops, and other internal teams to share best practices and drive consistent execution
- Manage all operational aspects of the branch including:
- Corporate branding
- Office aesthetics and cleanliness
- Supplies
- Ensure the safekeeping of all company assets in the branch
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Talent Management Responsibilities
- Own branch culture and engagement; create an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates talent while addressing disengagement or resistance to change directly
- Select the best talent for branch positions
- Support the team of talent to achieve their highest performance potential
- Performance management:
- Frequent feedback (formal / informal)
- Annual formal review
- Documentation
- Provide and encourage development:
- Training & development (internal / external courses & on-the-job training)
- Cross training
- Coaching
- Identify and develop future leadership talent (Supervisors, Leads, Managers)
- Onboard and orient new talent
- Regular meetings
- Clear, concise and consistent communication (branch specific, corporate communications, etc.)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills, Characteristics & Qualifications
- Level 2 General Insurance License or actively pursuing Level 3 License
- Leading and working experience in an Autoplan Service Dealer (ASD) branch is an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively with direct reports, colleagues and front-line talent to create a results driven and team oriented environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of internal and external clients
- Passion and firm understanding of business and financials
- Ability to plan and manage at the operational, branch level
- Strong organizational skills
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a department or branch within the insurance industry

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
