Responsibilities:
What your days look like as a Superintendent:
- Plan the implementation of ship loading and unloading operations;
- Determine the equipment and labour required for operations;
- Coordinate the execution of maritime operations and cargo handing on the terminal;
- Supervise the work teams under your responsibility;
- Enforce health and safety guidelines in the workplace;
- Prepare performance and cost control reports;
- Represent the company in various committees or assemblies.
Qualifications:
To succeed as a Superintendent you must have:
- Experience supervising unionized staff;
- Ability to work outdoors and on different work shifts;
- Demonstrate autonomy, team spirit, flexibility and judgment;
- Decision-making ability;
- Ability to communicate in English and French (written and spoken);
- Have a diploma of vocational or college studies;
- Have a Class 5 driving licence.
