Administrative Assistant - Full Time
M’akola Housing Society – Victoria, BC

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Housing Operations, supervised by the Director of Property Management and Director of Housing Services, this position provides a range of confidential and administrative functions to support both the housing services office and the regional property management office. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the overall flow of work for the regional office and to provide exceptional customer service to our tenants and partners while being mindful of M’akola’s vision and values. This position will be available to support both areas of the business as well as provide vacation coverage to both departments.

This position is full-time, permanent, Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week based out of the Victoria Regional Office. This position’s wage is between $24.00 - $26.00 per hour.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of administrative experience

  • Experience in Property Management administration considered an asset

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience working in and with the Indigenous community preferred

Other

  • Willing to participate in personal and professional development

  • Willing to travel for occasional M’akola events and training

  • Prepared to work outside of regular business hours on occasion

  • Follow M’akola Housing Society policies and procedures; and

  • Provide a clear Criminal Record Check.

M'akola Housing Society is the largest Indigenous affordable housing provider in British Columbia serving more than 5,000 family members.

M'akola offers a variety of housing to suit the needs of our applicants and tenants. We offer family housing in townhouse complexes, apartment buildings and single family dwellings. M'akola also offers housing geared to singles and couples and has two assisted living facilities for our Elders and seniors.
