About the role
Foremost has immediate openings for full time Journeyman Welders to work our weekend day shift Friday to Sunday 12-hour shift and double overtime on Sunday located at our facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. This position includes, but is not limited to production welding, service & repair welding, prototype building, tank, and fitter welding. This position will work with Lead Hands, Charge Hands and Foremen to ensure continuous improvements using FMAW, GMAW, FCAW and semi-automatic welding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), and resistance welding.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues.
- Prepare input for various management and log reports.
- Provide a framework of various levels of training and experience to be used when recruiting staff and serve as a mechanism for incremental advancement in responsibility and duties within this position.
- Review blueprints and specifications.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
- Mentoring coaching of other welders
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Alberta Journeyman Ticket or Interprovincial Red Seal in Welding
- Valid welding certification, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), certified in all positions.
- Previous experience in tank fabrication.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills and able work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced working environment
- Safety Training an asset but will train as required.
