##Position Overview:

Working within the OWSS (Optimized Weapon System Support) Department, the primary responsibility for this position is to participate in exploring opportunities to analyze data in order to optimize sequences and process improvements to increase efficiencies. This position will drive implementation of improving quality, productivity, and cost using data analytics. To interact with all levels of the organization in a project focused approach to link initiatives with business critical objectives using Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”).

##What You Will Do:

  • Work with Program Management Teams to develop solutions to difficult problems to meet priorities and commitments
  • Interpret data, analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques.
  • Develop and implement data analyses, leverage data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Act as a liaison between staff and management, analyzing and interpreting data involving company procedures, policies, and workflows.
  • Prepare, analyze, and summarize various weekly, monthly, and periodic operational results for use by various key stakeholders, creating reports, specifications, instructions, and flowcharts.
  • Conduct full lifecycle of analytics projects, including pulling, manipulating, and exporting data from project requirements documentation to design and execution.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators, provide ongoing reports, and recommend business plan updates
  • Perform other duties as required.

##What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Technology, preferably in computer science, mathematics, business management, or engineering with a concentration in business or data analytics
  • Analyst certifications are considered an asset
  • 3+ years of data mining experience is considered an asset
  • 4+ years in an analyst role is considered an asset
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Deep experience with managing budgets
  • The ability to present findings in a polished way
  • Proficiency with statistics and dataset analytics (using Excel and Microsoft PowerBI)
  • Functional experience with SQL, Python, R, Machine Learning, Data Warehousing, Data Mining, and Data Modeling is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies. Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
