The Role:
At Medcan, the Senior Manager, Operations assumes a pivotal role in overseeing and
optimizing our Year-Round Care, Onsite Specialists & Endoscopy teams as well as a very critical business partner is planning and designing our future growth and transformation efforts in membership. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with strong business acumen, exceptional communication, and previous leadership/mid-management experience. The role oversees the day-to-day functions and performance metrics of both nursing and non-nursing resources . Reporting to the Director, t he Senior Manager will work collaboratively with the inter-professional care team to promote evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and innovation, a healthy safe work environment, and compliance with all legislative requirements.
The Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in spearheading our ambitious multi-site growth, expansion and transformation efforts. Tailored for a seasoned leader with exceptional operational finesse, this role demands a proven track record in effectively managing diverse clinical teams and achieving operational excellence through analytical, and business acumen skills. Emphasizing transformation readiness and future-proofing strategies which includes leveraging Ai/Automation, are key.
Accountabilities:
*Day-to-day Operations (60% ):*

Oversee daily management of nursing and non-nursing teams

Lead, mentor, and foster team development and accountability
-
Ensure performance targets are met and processes optimized
-
Streamline processes and workflows to improve productivity and resource utilization .
-
Ensure all clinical operations comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
-
Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of care.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align clinical operations with overall organizational goals.
-
Manage resource allocation and budgets
-
Identify and mitigate risks
-
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of clinical operations.

Address clinical/administrative issues
-
Support training and professional development
-
Takes action to ensure patients’ safety; reports and conducts investigation of unsafe practice, documents incidents in accordance with legislation and regulations, policies, and the College of Nurses of Ontario

Responsible for monitoring the adherence to the policies and procedures for the nursing and non-nursing team members
-
Provide support within the range of hours that the business is open (currently Monday to S unday 6:30am to 7:00 pm)
Business Management (40%):

Collaborate with key stakeholders at Medcan to introduce new ideas and solutions to improve the membership brand -value and experience
-
Develop and implement new processes and models in membership operations that align with Medcan’ strategies and future-proof membership ops
-
Drive change management initiatives to support the business’ growth trajectory and sustainability.

Identify opportunities to realize efficiencies and/or elevate the client experience leveraging automation, AI or existing technologies
-
Use forecasts and projections to plan future fiscal year impacts on budgets, and resources
Requirements:
-
BScN and College of Nurses of Ontario registration required ; Master's preferred
-
5+ years nursing experience
-
5–10 years progressive leadership in healthcare
-
3+ years managing large-scale transformation
-
Strong understanding of business and clinical operations, financial management , and program development
-
Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
This role is primarily onsite (4 days a week) at 150 York Street, Toronto and 1 day working from home. Manager on Duty rotation (weekends)
