Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Temporary Part Time Team Lead Cook to join our culinary team in Windsor, Canada. In this role, you will lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff while ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and service.

  • Oversee and coordinate kitchen operations during assigned shifts

  • Lead and motivate kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and quality standards

  • Plan and execute menu items in collaboration with the head chef

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards

  • Manage inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed

  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking as required

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery

  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role

  • Red Seal Certified

  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities

  • Proficiency in menu planning and recipe development

  • In-depth understanding of food safety principles and health regulations

  • Valid Food Safety Certification

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure

  • Culinary degree or diploma preferred

  • Familiarity with local food regulations and health standards in Windsor, Canada

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
