For more information about our victories, please visit our website at https://psacunion.ca/ About the role Under the general supervision of the Manager, Data Solutions and Analytics, the Officer will lead projects related to the management of information related to members, including management of the Member Portal, the Organizing module and other areas of work. The Officer will provide expertise to specific parts of the organization to improve their electronic tracking of information and to assist with the integration of workflows and systems to improve information management practices across the organization. The Officer will provide training, guidance and assistance to a diverse range of end-users in areas related to the Member Portal, the Organizing module and other Modules’ functionalities, including the establishment of data quality verification tools and processes. What we are looking for: Education/Experience: A minimum of three (3) years work experience in a field related to member mobilization and/or organizing and/or representation. Demonstrated work experience in project management and requirements analysis Demonstrated working experience with UnionWare or other complex relational database. Skills & Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and understanding of the structure, programs and work processes in the area of mobilization and/or organizing of members. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of other programs and work processes involving the management of members information. Knowledge and commitment of trade union and equity principles, and understanding of the sensitive political and social issues. Abilities: Demonstrated ability in requirements analysis and good project management skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate organizational resources towards a technical project involving organizational change. Proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems and workflow related issues. Proven ability to analyze and understand the functionality of existing database applications is essential. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive and technically sound advice to stakeholders, end users, and technical support staff in specific technical and business process areas. Demonstrated ability in working with system and end-user documentation including requirements definitions, flow charts, data flow diagrams and training documents is required. Demonstrated ability to deliver comprehensive training sessions to a diverse user community Ability to effectively schedule tasks and assignments, deal with competing priorities and remain effective during pressure situations. Ability to accept responsibility and work effectively without close supervision in a methodical and efficient manner, and cooperatively with others in a team. Ability to demonstrate good client service. Ability to communicate orally and in writing preferably in English and French languages with systems stakeholders and end-users as well as with technical specialists is essential. Personal suitability: Excellent judgment and demonstrated problem solving, consultative, persuasive and conflict resolution skills to provide sound direction and advice on complex technology and processes issues to all levels of users. Commitment to continuous quality / process improvement. What you need to know Second language skills as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) will be assessed. Valid federal SLE results may be accepted. A combination of education, experience, and demonstrated performance may substitute for formal academic requirements.
