About the role
Horizon Recruitment is conducting the search for an experienced Site Contracts Manager for our client who will work on 14/7 rotation to site in Northern BC. This role will manage major site construction contracts for a large project and will be a key part of the project delivery team.
Initially a 12 month contract term, this position will focus on long term projects and may continue for additional contract terms.
Responsibilities:
- Manage post award vendor relationships with large construction service providers
- Act as owners representative in all contract negotiations with site based vendors
- Negotiate all change orders, claims and scope inquiries
- Manage progress payments and approvals
- Track project budgets and schedules for contract portfolio
- Assist with the development of scope of work and RFx for construction tenders
- Liaise with project managers, engineers and construction / site managers to ensure vendors are completing work to schedule and to required quality levels.
Requirements:
- University level degree ideally in engineering or construction management disciplines.
- 10+ years of experience working in a project environment
- 8+ years of experience working in Mining, Construction, Oil & Gas etc.
- 8+ years of experience in contract administration / contract management
- 5+ years public procurement experience
- Exceptional communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Customer service focused approach to contract management
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Remuneration:
- Target rate $125 - $130/hour
- Competitive hourly rate will be negotiated based on past experience within major project delivery.
