What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Planning and Activation, this position is responsible for overseeing the initiation and delivery of commercial related projects by liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will assist in planning, scheduling, and implementation of all commercial partner developments. This will include helping to facilitate design review, permitting, construction, activation and close out of commercial projects.

As a Senior Representative, Commercial Activation, you will**:**

  • Develop and manage relationships with partners and stakeholders to activate new commercial programs and infrastructure initiatives that drive growth.
  • Plan, schedule, track budgets, and implement all commercial partner developments (excluding IT projects).
  • Oversee retail-related GTAA projects and team development, ensuring compliance with internal and external processes.
  • Support construction planning for new store development in collaboration with project managers and tenants; act as main tenant contact during the project lifecycle.
  • Manage public tenders and RFPs, prepare strategic implementation plans, evaluate proposals, and recommend contract awards.
  • Research trends and identify new revenue opportunities, innovative products, and services to enhance guest experience and Toronto Pearson’s retail offering.
  • Monitor tenant compliance with GTAA standards, federal regulations, and performance metrics; address systemic issues and recommend policy enhancements.
  • Prepare and present activation plans, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports; analyze contracts and identify trends in commercial programs.

This unionized position is classified at the Band 7 level, with an hourly wage range of $45.97, based on a 37.5 hour work week. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete a test.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 5 years’ experience in customer-account service/relationship management and dealing with multiple stakeholders would be considered an asset.
  • 5 years’ experience in retail management, or commercial property management or commercial leasing would be considered an asset.
  • 3 years’ experience managing and/or implementing work plans.
  • 3 years’ experience coordinating the work of consultants and contractors.
  • Post secondary degree or 3 year diploma in business, retail management, commercial property management or other related field would be considered an asset, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.

Knowledge and skills you bring, that set you up for success:

  • Ability to manage and implement programs that yield positive growth.
  • Ability to build work plans that deliver on program objectives.
  • Strong skills in customer-account service/relationship management.
  • Knowledge of negotiation strategies, retail programs or plans and strategies.
  • Knowledge of commercial contracts/leases including terms and conditions.
  • Ability to deal with regulatory or legislative stakeholders and their requirements i.e. Code Compliance Consultants.
  • Knowledge of computer software operations (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to write professional businesses cases and briefs.
