About the role

Position Summary

Under the direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for the overall management of housekeeping & facilities maintenance operations. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Directs the day-to-day activities of housekeeping & facilities/ maintenance team members
  • Manages the housekeeping budget and prepares proposals for larger purchases/maintenance projects for the General Manager to review
  • Prepares and submits purchasing requisitions
  • Sources housekeeping and maintenance suppliers
  • Leads a team of engaged team-members who are passionate about cleanliness, impeccable state-of-repair and delivering a great guest experience
  • Champion of workplace health, safety and wellness with a focus on team member education & training, workplace inspections and accident prevention not reaction;
  • Anticipates operational and service issues before they escalate, trouble-shoots and resolves guest concerns before they are complaints.
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Offers facilities & housekeeping expertise to internal and external guests
  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the Facilities and Housekeeping team while providing continuous coaching for success to achieve high performance.
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; Post-Secondary education in hospitality or skilled trades, or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Smart Serve Certificate and WHMIS training
  • Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations providing great experiences & memories at all times.
  • Computer literacy
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in housekeeping or facilities management
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Major exposure to the elements, sitting and driving for long periods of time, some elements of danger, some exposure to noise, some exposure to verbal or physical abuse, non-traditional work hours
