#Position Overview

Step into a role where you make a meaningful impact on people’s well-being and recovery. As ourHR Generalist, Leaves and Disability Management, you’ll be a trusted partner, guiding employees through some of their most critical moments—supporting them through illness or injury and helping them safely transition back to work. Working closely with leaders, healthcare professionals, and insurers, you’ll play a key role in fostering a supportive, compliant, and people-centered workplace.

Reporting to the HR Director, the successful candidate will provide end-to-end case management for employees on medical leave, including reviewing medical information, developing and implementing compliant return-to-work and accommodation plans, and coordinating early intervention supports. You will partner closely with managers, employees, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders to facilitate safe, timely, and sustainable returns to work, while offering guidance on attendance and workplace planning. In addition, you will lead program improvements, leverage data to enhance outcomes, and support prevention efforts through initiatives such as ergonomic assessments.

#Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position should have aBachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology or a related field, along withat least three years of experience in disability case management, preferably within a unionized or non-profit environment. They have strong expertise in managing occupational and non-occupational injury or illness cases, interpreting medical information, and developing appropriate accommodations and return-to-work plans. Certification in disability management or return-to-work coordination considered an asset.

This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, and strong organizational skills to adapt to changing priorities. A solid understanding of privacy legislation, WorkSafeBC regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and hands-on experience in early intervention and workplace accommodations are essential.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
