Position: Bioinformatician
Type: Contract Compensation: $60–$85/hour Duration: 4-week engagement Commitment: Remote Role Responsibilities
- Solve challenging bioinformatics data-analysis problems independently.
- Analyze large biological datasets and submit complete workflows as Jupyter notebooks.
- Inform the evaluation of frontier AI models on scientific reasoning.
- Work under a blind protocol, attempting each task independently without prior context.
- Tackle bioinformatics problems across diverse subdomains like transcriptomics and genomics.
Qualifications Must-Have
- PhD or Master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with at least two areas: RNA-seq analysis, variant calling, metagenomic classification, epigenomic profiling, single-cell analysis, or population genetics.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics pipelines.
- Experience producing well-documented, reproducible Jupyter notebooks.
- Familiarity with command-line tools like samtools.
- Strong independent problem-solving ability.
Start Date
- March; tasks assigned on a rolling basis.
