We are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator (Single Family Construction)!
This is a full-time position.
Position Overview
The Senior Residential Estimator assumes a crucial role within the single-family division. Responsible for a diverse array of tasks and deliverables and reports to the Estimating Manager, the Senior Residential Estimator provides invaluable support to the Estimating Manager in ensuring the smooth operation of residential projects. Conceptual duties encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including the meticulous collection and analysis of cost data, the execution of unit price takeoffs, the facilitation of project procurement and budget execution processes, and conceptual estimating for custom sales and design center pricing. As projects evolve and requirements shift, additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the seamless execution of projects within the single-family division.
Job Duties
- Prepare, review, and coordinate full cost estimates and retail pricing for new model, option, and elevation designs.
- Collaborate with the Junior & Intermediate Estimating Team to prepare comprehensive bid packages, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in pricing.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for single-family residential projects, including material take-offs, labor costs, and subcontractor quotes.
- Perform job-based budget analysis and field release processes.
- Completion of custom sales and design center job-based pricing.
- Perform competitor plan and specification comparisons.
- Perform high-level feasibility analysis for new and emerging innovative products that can be incorporated into standard specifications or options.
- Assist in the execution of pricing database maintenance.
- Assist in scope of work development and maintenance.
- Assist in the training of all junior & intermediate estimating team members
Skills & Requirements

7+ years of Residential Construction Estimating Experience
-
Proven expertise in quote analysis, negotiation, and preparing recommendations.
-
Strong ability in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed cost estimating.
-
Experience with cost control, including preparing costtocomplete reports.
-
Experience with specification writing.
-
Familiar with DP and BP City processes.
-
Experience coordinating with drafting, product development and trade partners.
-
Postsecondary degree or diploma in Building, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or an equivalent program from a recognized institution.

Ability to interpret and provide technical and costrelated comments on architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, specifications, and asbuilt documents.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills for material and labour takeoffs, costtocomplete reports, and jobcost analysis.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediatelevel Excel or higher.

Experience with estimating software such as Timberline, Microsoft AX – Home Builder One, and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, switch between projects, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

Effective verbal communication and active listening skills.

Ability to coach and mentor team members.

Strong timemanagement, organizational, and problemsolving skills.

Proactive in maintaining current knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and materials.
