A Key Role Within a High-Performing Team
As a Product Specialist, you will play a key role in the development, improvement and commercialization of our product portfolio while working closely with Product Development, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Support teams.
Strategic Product Innovation
Identify innovative product ideas and innovative solutions to technical challenges in order to maintain Cabico's competitive advantage. Collaborate with Product Managers, the Product Expert and Purchasing to identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers. Coordinate concept testing and support prototype development. Participate in Product Development Committee activities to ensure technical feasibility of new products. Provide technical information required for product specifications, co-ordinate technical drawings and system programming. Support the development of work instructions and production training for new product introductions. Estimate, analyze and optimize product costing in collaboration with the finance team for new products and engineering changes.
Follow and support Project Plans on time and in-full
Continuous Product Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve existing products by enhancing manufacturability, reducing costs, improving quality, and increasing overall production efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to product engineering changes (CHIPP). Ensure the technical feasibility of product improvement initiatives. Support the preparation of technical documentation, engineering drawings and system programming. Provide technical information required for production documentation and training.
Technical Support
Provide technical product support to internal departments as required

Diploma in industrial or mechanical engineering, industrial design degree or 5–10 years of experience in the custom cabinetry, woodworking or furniture industry. Knowledge of woodworking and cabinetry manufacturing is considered an asset. Bilingual (French and English). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Organized, detail-oriented and methodical. Ability to build collaborative relationships across multiple departments and functions.
Solid understanding of MS Office Suite
Comfortable presenting ideas/concepts to groups
