About The Role This is a remote, Canada-based position requiring the ability to travel to our Alberta location as needed.

As ATB’s next Director, Enterprise Identity & Core Banking Security you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping, driving, and enhancing our Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Core Banking Security programs. You will lead a team of security analysts, ensuring seamless delivery of enterprise-wide identity solutions, and foster a culture of security across the organization.

In This Role, You Will

  • Run & Elevate Operations, ensure reliable, high-quality project and operational delivery across our Core Banking Security, IAM Engineering, and Access Advisory teams. Maintain strong SLAs, predictable operations, and consistent issue resolution while driving a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Safeguard Core Banking Systems, oversee day-to-day SAP and financial system security operations, ensuring controls are executed effectively, monitored continuously, and remain audit-ready.
  • Execute Workforce Identity Strategy, translate enterprise identity strategy into stable, scalable operational processes: including authentication, authorization, access governance, and lifecycle management, Ensuring teams deliver secure and frictionless service.
  • Deliver Advisory & Assurance Services, operate mature advisory programs that support application teams with access design, SOD reviews, and change governance. Maintain efficient, repeatable processes that reduce rework and improve experience.
  • Modernize Through Automation, drive continuous improvement by simplifying workflows, expanding automation, reducing manual access tasks, and leveraging ITSM Platforms, Cloud tooling, and identity orchestration technologies.
  • Align, Communicate & Coordinate, act as the operational bridge between cybersecurity, technology partners, and business stakeholders. Provide clear updates, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between daily execution and enterprise priorities.

Accountabilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for Core Banking Security, IAM Engineering, and Access Advisory, ensuring SLA adherence and predictable service delivery.
  • Oversee SAP and financial system security controls, maintaining audit readiness and ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
  • Execute workforce identity lifecycle processes, including authentication, authorization, provisioning, and access governance.
  • Operate and mature advisory programs supporting access design, SOD reviews, and secure change processes.
  • Drive automation and process optimization across identity and access workflows using ServiceNow and cloud-native tooling.
  • Monitor operational risk, escalate issues early, and implement corrective actions to maintain system integrity and reliability.
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, communicate impacts, and enable smooth delivery across teams.
  • Develop talent, build strong team culture, and ensure clear ownership, documentation, and repeatable processes.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, identity management, and/or core banking technology.
  • 2+ years cybersecurity experience within a heavily regulated environment; banking, healthcare, etc.
  • 5+ years of leadership or operational management role.
  • Strong understanding of SAP security, financial system controls, and GRC/SOD frameworks.
  • Experience running enterprise IAM operations, including provisioning, authentication, authorization, and access governance centered around role based access controls.
  • Proven ability to manage SLAs, operational dashboards, incident response workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on familiarity with ITSM platforms, automation/orchestration tooling, and cloud-hosted identity platforms.
  • Experience operating and maintaining enterprise Identity Provider (IdP) platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, product, audit, and risk teams while communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications are an asset (CISSP, CISM, SAP Security, Identity Governance/Management certifications).
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
